Battery Minerals secures mining license for Montepuez graphite project

Battery Minerals Ltd. said March 26 that the Montepuez graphite project is on track for commissioning in November, after securing the project's mining license from the Mozambique government.

The company had committed to four off-take deals for graphite concentrate produced from the Montepuez project, which amounts to about 80% of forecast stage-one production.

First shipment of graphite concentrate is expected in the first quarter of 2019. Battery Minerals also expects to grow production of graphite flake concentrate at the project to over 100,000 tonnes per annum by 2020 following a series of expansions.
