UK PE firm AnaCap acquires majority stake in Danish health insurer

U.K.-based private equity firm AnaCap Financial Partners LLP acquired a majority stake in Danish health insurance and claims management services provider SundhedsGruppen A/S for undisclosed terms.

SundhedsGruppen consists of Danish private health insurance provider Dansk Sundhedssikring A/S and healthcare network provider PrimaCare A/S.

The majority stake was acquired from SundhedsGruppen's founders, who will retain a minority stake.

SundhedsGruppen currently provides insurance cover for about 250,000 individuals in Denmark through a client list consisting of several of the Nordic region's largest blue-chip companies.

AnaCap said it will support SundhedsGruppen's goal of growing market share into the Nordics and wider geographical markets, as well as through additional insurance market channels. The business will be grown organically and through bolt-on acquisition opportunities, AnaCap added.

AnaCap was advised during the process by Deloitte, Carey Olsen and Plesner. The owners of Dansk Sundhedssikring were advised by Nordic M&A, Omera Consulting and Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen.
