Modern Aviation adds Gateway USA to fixed-base operator portfolio

Modern Aviation Inc. purchased Gateway USA LLC for an undisclosed amount.

New York-based Modern is a fixed-base operator network platform backed by middle-market private equity firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners LP. It acquires and develops fixed-base operators that provide aeronautical services at airports in North America and the Caribbean.

Modern aims to further develop Gateway's current facility in 2019 by building 48,000 square feet of additional hangar and office space.

Gateway general manager Chuck Kegley will remain at the helm, together with the company's existing staff.

Tiger invests mainly in companies located in North America and Europe in the communications, energy and transportation industries, among other sectors.
