European private equity firm InvestIndustrial, through an investment unit of its Investindustrial VI LP fund, agreed to acquire a majority stake in Italcanditi SpA.
The deal is slated to close in the first quarter, pending antitrust approvals. Italcanditi's sole shareholder, the Goffi family, will continue to own a 30% stake in the Bergamo, Italy-based company. Maurizio Goffi will remain CEO, along with Carlo Parmoli as general manager.
Italcanditi makes fruit-based ingredients and creams for the dairy, pastry and candied fruits markets, mainly in Italy and France. It has 400 employees, with one production plant.
