KP Tissue Q4 loss widens 5.6% YOY

KP Tissue Inc. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 11 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 16 cents per share.

The per-share loss widened year over year from 10 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of C$947,500, compared with a loss of C$896,880 in the prior-year period.

Reported net income came to a loss of C$27.8 million, or a loss of C$3.10 per share, compared to a loss of C$1.3 million, or a loss of 14 cents per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of 38 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 43 cents.

EPS was a loss of 17 cents in the prior year.

Normalized net income was a loss of C$3.4 million, compared with a loss of C$1.5 million in the prior year.

The company said reported net income came to a loss of C$31.3 million, or a loss of C$3.52 per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of C$2.5 million, or a loss of 29 cents per share, the prior year.
