Yamanaka Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 20 came to ¥11.73 per share, a decrease of 21.5% from ¥14.94 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥226.0 million, a decrease of 21.5% from ¥287.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 0.9% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled ¥25.58 billion, compared with ¥25.38 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥25.27 billion from ¥24.91 billion.
Reported net income declined 55.1% from the prior-year period to ¥164.0 million, or ¥8.51 per share, from ¥365.0 million, or ¥18.94 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥38.28 per share, a gain of 70.8% from ¥22.42 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥737.4 million, an increase of 67.9% from ¥439.3 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to ¥100.86 billion from ¥99.00 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥100.01 billion from ¥98.49 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 21.7% on an annual basis to ¥588.0 million, or ¥30.52 per share, in the full year, from ¥483.0 million, or ¥24.65 per share.
