Grab to grow delivery-only kitchens in Indonesia

Singapore-based GrabTaxi Holdings Pte Ltd. on Sept. 12 said that its food delivery business plans to grow its delivery-only kitchens in Indonesia to more than 50 by the end of 2019.

GrabKitchen is a cloud kitchen that serves as a single central facility for multiple food and beverage brands. Partner brands can prepare orders on-site, reducing delivery time for orders.

GrabFood began testing GrabKitchen in the country in September 2018 before officially launching it in April. It has since expanded to 10 kitchens across Indonesia, including one in the city of Bandung, GrabKitchen's first location outside Jakarta.

The ride-hailing company also said it opened its 10th GrabKitchen, located at the Capital Place Jakarta complex, the first of its delivery-only kitchens to have a dine-in feature.
