Chuo Gyorui Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥61.25 per share, a gain of 5.0% from ¥58.32 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥251.3 million, a gain of 5.0% from ¥239.3 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 0.5% from 0.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 14.8% year over year to ¥47.91 billion from ¥41.74 billion, and total operating expenses grew 15.1% on an annual basis to ¥47.67 billion from ¥41.43 billion.
Reported net income decreased 30.5% on an annual basis to ¥274.0 million, or ¥66.79 per share, from ¥394.0 million, or ¥96.04 per share.
As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.44.
