Mexico's Monex signs 1.5B peso investment agreement with Ventura Capital

Monex SAB de CV signed an agreement with Ventura Capital Privado SA de CV, under which Ventura will invest up to 1.5 billion Mexican pesos to acquire shares issued by the lender at a reference price of 18.65 pesos per share, Monex said in a Jan. 26 filing.

The details of the agreement, which will include a mixed public offering on the primary and secondary markets, must be approved by Monex's shareholders at a later date.

The deal is also subject to certain conditions, including regulatory approvals. Ventura currently has investments in the telecommunications, real estate, entertainment and pharmaceutical businesses.

As of Jan. 26, US$1 was worth 21.16 Mexican pesos.
