An affiliate of private equity company ArcLight Capital Partners LLC is set to acquire a 12-Bcf natural gas storage facility in Logan County, Colo., according to a Jan. 8 news release.
The ArcLight affiliate, Enstor Inc., plans to integrate the East Cheyenne facility, which interconnects with the Tallgrass Energy LP-owned Trailblazer pipeline, into its existing storage platform. Coupled with its pending acquisition of nearly 43 Bcf of natural gas storage assets from a Sempra Energy subsidiary, Enstor would have upwards of 120 Bcf of net working gas storage capacity, with storage operations in the Gulf Coast, Southwest and Rockies regions.
The ArcLight affiliate on Jan. 2 announced its $332 million deal with Sempra, which includes the acquisition of the Mississippi Hub storage facility in Simpson County, Miss., which can hold 22.3 Bcf of gas, and the Bay Gas storage facility in southwestern Alabama, which has a 20.4-Bcf capacity.
