The Alberta Electric System Operator board of directors said the provincial grid operator's president and CEO, David Erickson, will resign, effective Jan. 31, 2019.

Erickson has been president and CEO of the organization since 2009 and started with the grid operator in 2003 as CFO, according to an Oct. 16 news release.

He will be succeeded by Senior Vice President and COO Michael Law, who started with the organization in 2009.
