Statkraft acquires 3 wind projects in Chile

Statkraft AS has acquired three planned wind projects, totaling 110 MW, in Chile.

The Norwegian power company will now develop the 30-MW Cardonal, 28-MW Manantiales and 52-MW Cerrillos wind farms toward investment decision for possible completion in 2022.

Statkraft estimates that the projects will require investment of $180 million, according to a Sept. 16 news release.

The deal grows Statkraft's renewable energy portfolio in Chile, where it owns and operates several hydropower plants.
