LafargeHolcim Ltd Q2 profit falls YOY

LafargeHolcim Ltd said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 76 Swiss centimes per share, a decrease of 7.8% from 82 centimes per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was CHF269.1 million, a decrease of 11.6% from CHF304.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 5.4% from 6.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell on an annual basis to CHF4.73 billion from CHF4.90 billion, and total operating expenses declined year over year to CHF4.13 billion from CHF4.24 billion.

Reported net income declined 35.2% from the prior-year period to CHF263.0 million, or 74 centimes per share, from CHF406.0 million, or CHF1.10 per share.
