Various Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executives are set to leave this year as Chairman and CEO David Solomon looks to reduce the number of people promoted to partners, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
Those preparing to leave include Chief Technology Officer Elisha Wiesel and Steven Strongin, head of Goldman's research operation. Jeff Nedelman, a senior partner in stock trading, left Goldman on Sept. 4.

Goldman Sachs hired Drew Goldman as a managing director in the high-yield trading division, Business Insider reported.

Moelis & Co. named Peter Kerckhoffs a managing director to give advice to clients across Netherlands and Europe, effective in December.

Stephens Inc. hired bank analysts from Piper Jaffray Cos. and made a promotion in its institutional equity research and sales group.
Sources previously told S&P Global Market Intelligence that the trio was set to move to Stephens.

Robert Hutchinson, Piper Jaffray Cos.'s head of financial services investment banking, is expected to move to Raymond James Financial Inc., three sources told S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Hutchinson has advised at least four depository deals since 2018 and many of his assignments were in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.

R. Martin Chavez, Goldman Sachs' global co-head of securities division, will retire at the end of 2019, according to CNBC. The company named Marc Nachmann, co-head of global investment banking, to succeed Chavez.

Simon Tilley, a partner at Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP, left to join Stephens, Financial News reported. He will work as a managing director, focusing on European sponsor coverage.
