Pakistan's new government removed two deputy governors of the central bank from their posts after declaring their appointments "illegal," Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said.
"The illegal appointments made by Ishaq Dar, the people involved in those are being removed," Chaudhry said in a news briefing, Reuters reported.
Ishaq Dar is a former finance minister of Pakistan. Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered his removal from office in 2017 after finding that his assets exceeded his legally declared income.
The report did not name the deputy governors in question.
