Executive, director moves through March 2

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of recent board and executive changes in the metals and mining industry. The moves are listed in chronological order.

Feb. 26

Debra Bakker joined the board of Capricorn Metals Ltd. as an independent nonexecutive director. Bakker is also a nonexecutive director of Independence Group NL.

International Ferro Metals Ltd. nonexecutive directors John Ballard and Stephen Oke resigned from the company's board, effective Feb. 23.

Rene Bharti was named chairman and a new director of Jourdan Resources Inc., while Harvey McKenzie resigned as a company director to focus on other opportunities.

Nexen Energy ULC CFO Marilyn Schonberner was added to the board of Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. as a new director, effective Feb. 26.

Doug Sanders was elected a director of El Capitan Precious Metals Inc., effective immediately.

Zara Resources Inc. CEO and director Daniel Wettreich retired from his posts after selling the majority of his stakes in the company. Zara directors Mark Wettreich, Peter Wanner, Paul Cullingham and David Lonsdale also retired from the company's board. Subsequently, Eugene Beukman was appointed CEO and a director of Zara, while Damanjit Gahunia and Ajit Bhatti were named directors of the company.

Richard Grayston was named CEO of Vela Minerals Ltd., and Mark Ferguson was named CFO. Richard Ko joined Vela as a director after Charles Chebry resigned from the company's board to pursue other opportunities.

Yaacov Dior's term as an external director of Israel Chemicals Ltd. expired Feb. 26. He had held the post since October 2011.

CMC Metals Ltd. director Carl von Einsiedel stepped down from the company's board and was replaced by Graham Chisholm.

Pacific Imperial Mines Inc. President Leo King resigned from the post but will remain as a company director. Albert Wu stepped down as CFO due to health reasons. Subsequently, Pacific Imperial director Chris McLeod was appointed president and CEO, effective immediately, while Alia Khan will take over the CFO role.

Feb. 27

Rob Cole was added to the board of Iluka Resources Ltd. as an independent nonexecutive director, effective March 1.

Masuparia Gold Corp. CFO Karen Allan stepped down from the post to pursue other opportunities and was replaced by Andrew Davidson.

Feb. 28

Kin Mining NL Chairman Trevor John Dixon will take over the interim managing director post, while Jeremy David Kirkwood was named independent nonexecutive chairman of the company. Dixon will serve as interim managing director until a new candidate is appointed, after which Dixon will remain on Kin Mining's board as a nonexecutive director.

Robin Widdup joined the board of Nusantara Resources Ltd. as a nonexecutive director. Widdup is the founder and a director of Nusantara's largest shareholder, Lion Selection Group Ltd.

Alto Metals Ltd. CFO Sam Middlemas resigned from the post and was succeeded by Patrick Holywell, with immediate effect.

Sam Middlemas also stepped down as CFO of Enterprise Metals Ltd. and was replaced by Patrick Holywell, effective immediately.

Zeng Jin was appointed independent nonexecutive director of Greentech Technology International Ltd., effective March 1.

Cerro Mining Corp. CFO and director Sharon Lewis resigned from the posts, effective Feb. 28, to pursue other opportunities. Subsequently, Xavier Wenzel was named Cerro Mining's CFO and Brock Daem was added to the company's board as an independent director.

Obakeng Phetwe joined the board of Royal Bafokeng Platinum Ltd. as a nonexecutive director, with immediate effect, while Peter John Ledger was named an independent nonexecutive director. Meanwhile, Robin Mills will not stand for re-election as an independent nonexecutive director of Royal Bafokeng at the company's upcoming annual general meeting in April.

March 1

David Mason agreed to take Dark Horse Resources Ltd.'s managing director post on a full-time basis, effective March 1.

Chris Gilchrist was named managing director of Davenport Resources Ltd. after being appointed a nonexecutive director of the company in February 2017.

Stratex International Plc CEO Bob Foster resigned and was succeeded by Tim Livesey, who serves as chairman of advisory firm Minexia Ltd.

Edward Nealon stepped down as Bezant Resources Plc's chairman and as a nonexecutive director. Meanwhile, Colin Bird was appointed executive chairman of the company.

Integra Resources Corp. President and CEO George Salamis was appointed a director and Timo Jauristo was added to the company's board as an independent nonexecutive director. The appointments come after Lisa McCormack resigned as a director of Integra.

Great Panther Silver Ltd. co-founder Robert Archer was named a director of Newrange Gold Corp., effective immediately.

Jeremy South joined Five Star Diamonds Ltd. as CFO, with immediate effect, replacing Carmelo Marrelli, who held the post on an interim basis.

Angelina Mehta was elected a director of Azimut Exploration Inc. during the company's Feb. 27 annual general meeting.

Fission 3.0 Corp. director Jeremy Ross resigned from the company's board to pursue other ventures.

Charles Beaudry stepped down as a director of Metalla Royalty & Streaming Ltd. to pursue other opportunities but will remain as a technical adviser of the company on a consultant basis.

Due to other business commitments, Marc Cernovitch stepped down as CFO of Tembo Gold Corp. but will remain as an independent director. Simon Benstead, a significant Tembo Gold shareholder, will take over the CFO role, and David Anthony was reappointed as the company's chairman.

Kenneth Schaaf joined the board of Napier Ventures Inc. as a new director.

Unity Energy Corp. President and CEO Anita Algie was appointed CFO of Noram Ventures Inc. and Glen Macdonald was appointed a director after Kenneth Philippe resigned from the company's board.

Ernest Mast and John Williamson agreed to join the board of Rotation Minerals Ltd. as new directors, effective Feb. 28, after Brent Petterson resigned as a company director. Petterson will remain Rotation Minerals' CFO.

Vast Resources Plc CEO Andrew Prelea and COO Craig Harvey were added to the company's board as new directors, with immediate effect.

March 2

Kopore Metals Ltd. Chairman Tim Goldsmith resigned from the company's board to focus on his roles as president and CEO of Rincon Ltd. Peter Meagher, a previous chairman of Extract Resources Ltd., was named Kopore's independent nonexecutive chairman.

Neville Keith Bergin was added to the board of Metal Tiger Plc as a nonexecutive director, effective immediately, to replace Geoff McIntyre.

Gensource Potash Corp. director Mark Stauffer retired from the company's board.

Japan Gold Corp. nonexecutive director David Farrell resigned from the company's board to focus on other business activities.

Quinton George stepped down as an independent nonexecutive director of Trans Hex Group Ltd., effective March 1, and was replaced by his alternate director, Albertus Marais.

Dong Tao was added to the board of China Polymetallic Mining Ltd. as an independent nonexecutive director, effective March 5.
