Fidelity Investments fixed-income exec to retire; Finxact adds member to board

American National Bankshares Inc., the parent company of American National Bank and Trust Co., appointed Cynthia Vogler senior vice president of the bank and Triangle market president, including Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill.

Vogler previously was an area manager, client advisory for Pinnacle Bank.


Oakdale, Calif.-based Oak Valley Community Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oak Valley Bancorp, promoted Renee Lovitt to VP investment representative.

In the new role, Lovitt will take over as team leader for Oak Valley Investments in February when Alan Wilbur, who has led the group since 2007, retires.

Lovitt has been with Oak Valley Investments since 2014.


Comerica Bank named Irvin Ashford Jr. its chief community officer.

In the new role, Ashford will be responsible for community reinvestment nationally and all associated activities. In addition, he will lead the bank's diversity business resource groups.

Ashford, who joined the bank in 2000, previously was its national director of financial education and external affairs.


Randy Rorick has joined Colonial Savings FA as vice president of retail production at the bank's corporate headquarters located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Rorick most recently was area manager with Prime Lending.


CalPrivate Bank appointed Larraine Segil to its board, effective Jan. 15.


Bessemer, Ala.-based First Financial Bank and its holding company FirstFed Bancorp Inc. elected William Russell to its board, replacing longtime director Jimmy Koikos, who recently died, Birmingham (Ala.) Business Journal reported.

Russell owns and operates Russell & Company.


Fairfield, N.J.-based Kearny Bank promoted Robert Melchionne to senior vice president /director of commercial and industrial lending. Before joining the bank in 2019, Melchionne was vice president and commercial relationship manager for Provident Bank's middle market lending group.

Financial Services

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Finxact LLC appointed former counselor to the U.S. Secretary of Treasury Craig Phillips to its board, Jacksonville (Fla.) Business Journal reported.

Earlier, Phillips worked at BlackRock, and also served as managing director at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.


At the annual meeting of shareholders, Sheila Hooda informed Virtus Investment Partners Inc. of her decision not to stand for reelection to the firm's board. However, Hooda will continue as a member of the board, its audit and risk and finance committees until the annual meeting.


Thomson Reuters Corp. added Kirk Arnold to its board, effective immediately. Arnold was appointed to the firm's audit committee and human resources committee.

Arnold is currently an executive‐in‐residence at General Catalyst Ventures.


Nancy Prior, who oversaw Fidelity Investments' fixed-income division is retiring, BNN Bloomberg reported.

Prior's decision to retire in 2020 was announced internally in November by the fund company, according to the news outlet.

Meanwhile, Ashley Fernandes will be heading five funds, including the Fidelity Balanced Fund. Fernandes replaces Jonathan Kasen, who is seeking other opportunities within the firm, BNN Bloomberg added.
