AltaLink posts increased 2017 net income

AltaLink LP on Feb. 26 reported full-year net income of C$336.8 million in 2017, compared with C$306.0 million in net income in 2016.

AltaLink attributed the net income results to increased regulatory capital investment.

Revenue from operation for 2017 increased to C$973.1 million, compared to C$941.2 million in 2016. The results reflect an increase in AltaLink's investment in electricity transmission infrastructure.

The company invested C$511.3 million in its transmission system in 2017 to ensure the continued reliability of the grid and assist Alberta's renewable energy drive.

As a limited partnership, AltaLink reports net income before taxes, and the company stated that tax is incurred and paid for by its owners.

AltaLink is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
