NTT DATA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥15.03 per share, an increase from ¥14.71 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥21.07 billion, an increase from ¥20.63 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 4.7% from 5.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 10.8% year over year to ¥444.75 billion from ¥401.25 billion, and total operating expenses increased 12.3% year over year to ¥409.33 billion from ¥364.38 billion.
Reported net income decreased 20.9% from the prior-year period to ¥10.41 billion, or ¥7.42 per share, from ¥13.16 billion, or ¥9.38 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥34.48 per share, compared to EPS of ¥26.71 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥48.36 billion, an increase from ¥37.46 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to ¥1.512 trillion from ¥1.344 trillion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥1.428 trillion from ¥1.281 trillion.
The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to ¥32.14 billion, or ¥22.92 per share, in the full year, from ¥23.29 billion, or ¥16.60 per share.
