Swedish power company Vattenfall AB signed an electricity and partnership contract with Nivos Energia Oy aimed at finding ways to "act even better in the Finnish electricity market," the companies said in an Oct. 9 news release.
"The competition between energy companies has grown stronger and many mergers between electricity sales companies are conducted in the energy industry," Nivos Group President and CEO Esa Muukka said. "We believe that Vattenfall as a big European energy company with a good track record and knowledge will allow us to bring more value to our customers and make us serve our customers even better."
The partnership agreement represents Vattenfall's first in Finland within the energy company segment. Nivos has been operating in the country since 1926 and has approximately 20,000 customers.
