Meiji Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥35.54 per share, a gain of 28.9% from ¥27.57 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥5.23 billion, a gain of 28.9% from ¥4.06 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 1.8% from 1.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled ¥285.55 billion, compared with ¥288.30 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥277.31 billion from ¥281.79 billion.
Reported net income increased 60.1% year over year to ¥5.22 billion, or ¥35.43 per share, from ¥3.26 billion, or ¥22.12 per share.
