H.I.S. Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Jan. 31 amounted to ¥39.34 per share, an increase of 5.9% from ¥37.16 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.72 billion, a gain of 12.8% from ¥2.41 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 2.1% from 2.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 5.3% year over year to ¥128.87 billion from ¥122.36 billion, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to ¥123.85 billion from ¥118.28 billion.
Reported net income rose 15.9% year over year to ¥2.70 billion, or ¥39.08 per share, from ¥2.33 billion, or ¥35.94 per share.
As of Feb. 27, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.62.
