Department of Housing and Urban Development suspends reduction in FHA premiums

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has suspended a reduction in Federal Housing Administration annual mortgage insurance premium rates, effective Jan. 20.

The FHA had announced it would reduce the annual premium by 25 basis points earlier in January. Reducing the rates was one of the final actions taken by the department under the Obama administration.
