AMS Life Science fiscal Q1 profit climbs 98.6% YOY

AFC-HD AMS Life Science Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Nov. 30, 2015, was ¥17.07 per share, an increase of 95.8% from ¥8.72 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥206.8 million, an increase of 98.6% from ¥104.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 5.4% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 14.2% year over year to ¥3.85 billion from ¥3.37 billion, and total operating expenses rose 9.6% on an annual basis to ¥3.50 billion from ¥3.20 billion.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to ¥221.0 million, or ¥18.23 per share, from ¥100.0 million, or ¥8.33 per share.

As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.06.
