Randstad Holding NV said its third-quarter normalized net income came to 74 euro cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of €1.14 per share.
EPS fell 8.9% year over year from 81 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was €136.2 million, a decline of 8.7% from €149.2 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 2.3% from 2.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 9.8% on an annual basis to €5.87 billion from €5.35 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 10.6% on an annual basis to €5.64 billion from €5.11 billion.
Reported net income decreased 7.2% year over year to €161.9 million, or 88 cents per share, from €174.5 million, or 95 cents per share.
