RDC Semiconductor Q1 loss narrows YOY

RDC Semiconductor Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 9 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 10 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$5.4 million, compared with a loss of NT$6.1 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 8.9% from negative 8.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 14.2% on an annual basis to NT$60.5 million from NT$70.4 million, and total operating expenses declined 16.3% year over year to NT$67.5 million from NT$80.7 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of NT$8.6 million, or a loss of 14 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$9.8 million, or a loss of 16 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
