Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Inc. launched a nonbinding open season Jan. 9 for two projects in Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin that would help move production out from the SCOOP and STACK plays.
The Midwest Market Access project is designed to move SCOOP and STACK production into Southern Star's market areas, which include Kansas City. Project facilities include additional compression at its Blackwell Station and on the Canadian Blackwell line with the goal of adding up to 160,000 Dth/d of capacity.
The Southeast Expansion to NGPL project would expand the capacity of the recently established Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America LLC Carter interconnect by up to 40,000 Dth/d.
Southern Star said the open season would help them identify market growth and understand interest in new firm transportation service. Southern Star would develop the projects using its Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gas tariff. The company invited interested parties to file notice by 4 p.m. CT on Jan. 31.
Southern Star is an interstate system spanning about 6,000 miles in the Midwest and Midcontinent.
