Electricité de France books revenue growth

Electricité de France SA said that its sales for the first quarter rose by 3.7% to €20.45 billion from the €19.71 billion recorded in the same quarter last year.

EDF's production activities and marketing contributed the majority of revenue at €7.96 billion, a year-over-year rise of 0.2%.

The company said that the completion of the Gas Natural Fenosa Vendita Italia acquisition by Italian unit Edison resulted in a 50% increase in its customer base.

It also confirmed its 2018 targets for operating expenses of €800 million and EBITDA in the range of €14.60 billion to €15.30 billion.
