DHX Media Ltd. is changing its name to WildBrain as part of a management and business reorganization of the company.
DHX Media will launch a new logo and website as part of the rebranding, the company said Sept. 23. The company's YouTube LLC business has been renamed WildBrain Spark.
Shareholders of the company will be asked to approve a special resolution to change the name at the 2019 annual shareholders meeting, which the company expects to hold December. Following approval, DHX Media expects to change its ticker on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq to WILD.
Additionally, Doug Lamb is stepping down as CFO. The company named COO Aaron Ames to become CFO, effective immediately. Lamb will remain with the company in an advisory role until Oct. 31 to ensure a smooth transition. The company said its COO position will not be replaced.
The company expects to incur one-time cash reorganization charges in the range of C$10.0 million to C$12.0 million. The reorganization is expected to be completed by the end of the company's fiscal 2020.
