Compre Group to acquire runoff portfolio from Swiss Re unit

Compre Group said Jan. 18 that it acquired from Swiss Re Ltd. unit Swiss Re International SE an insurance and reinsurance business in runoff underwritten by RW Gibbon (Underwriting Agencies) Ltd. and RW Gibbon & Son Ltd. from 1950 to 1972.

The transaction value was not disclosed. Compre is an independent insurance and reinsurance legacy specialist with operations in the U.K., Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Finland, and it said the Swiss Re acquisition marks its 23rd portfolio deal.
