Bank of China names president, EVP

Bank of China Ltd. on Dec. 13 said it appointed Wang Jiang as president and executive vice president, confirming an earlier report from Caixin.

Wang was also nominated as a candidate for executive director, and as vice chairman of the Chinese state-owned bank. The appointments will take effect immediately after the approval of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.

Wang served as vice governor of the Jiangsu province until November 2019, and prior to that was executive vice president of the Bank of Communications Co. Ltd. until July 2017.

In addition, Bank of China appointed Wang Wei as executive vice president. He previously served as executive director and executive vice president of Agricultural Bank of China Ltd..
