Blue Lion Capital names ex-Clover Partners exec as partner

Johnny Guerry, a former managing partner and portfolio manager of activist investor Clover Partners LP's MHC Mutual Conversion Fund, is joining Blue Lion Capital as partner, effective Jan. 1st, 2019.

Blue Lion Capital, which beneficially owns 6.1% of the stock of HomeStreet Inc. along with its affiliates, called on HomeStreet in June to significantly reduce its mortgage business or engage an investment bank to explore a sale.

The addition of Guerry to Blue Lion Capital will be accretive to the company's portfolio management strategy, capital raising efforts and its ability to constructively engage with management, according to the company's managing partner, Chuck Griege.
