Intuitive posts preliminary Q4'19 results; expects higher YOY revenue

Intuitive Surgical Inc.'s preliminary earnings results put revenue estimates for the fourth quarter of 2019 at $1.28 billion, 22% higher than the year-ago period.

Full-year revenue is expected to be $4.48 billion, a growth of 20% compared to $3.72 billion in 2018, the Sunnyvale Calif.-based healthcare equipment company noted in its Jan. 9 press release.

Fourth-quarter 2019 da Vinci procedures rose about 19% versus the fourth quarter of 2018. In 2019, about 1,229,000 surgical procedures were performed with da Vinci Surgical Systems, an increase of roughly 18% compared to about 1,038,000 surgical procedures in 2018.
