Electricité de France SA has entered into an agreement with Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. to accelerate the rollout of electric mobility by further developing vehicle-to-grid, or V2G, charging solutions.
Under the cooperation agreement, which applies to the U.K., France, Belgium and Italy, Nissan will sell electric vehicles compatible with V2G charging, while EDF will be responsible for V2G charging solutions and related services, according to a Sept. 18 release.
The companies in October 2018 signed an agreement to join forces to develop shared offerings including around smart charging solutions, servicing remote areas and battery technology. "The cooperation agreement is fully in line with the Electric Mobility Plan launched last October," said EDF Electric Mobility Director Yannick Duport.
