Danone H1 profit climbs 19.3% YOY

Danone said its normalized net income for the first half amounted to €1.48 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of €1.61 per share.

EPS increased 18.2% year over year from €1.25.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was €919.9 million, a gain of 19.3% from €771.3 million in the prior-year period.

Total revenue grew 9.7% on an annual basis to €12.13 billion from €11.05 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 8.7% from the prior-year period to €10.41 billion from €9.57 billion.

Reported net income increased 10.8% year over year to €976.2 million, or €1.57 per share, from €881.0 million, or €1.43 per share.
