Hotel Chocolat Group fiscal H1 profit climbs 70.9% YOY

Hotel Chocolat Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Dec. 27, 2015, came to £5.5 million, a gain of 70.9% from £3.2 million in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

Total revenue climbed 14.2% on an annual basis to £55.7 million from £48.8 million, and total operating expenses climbed 7.3% year over year to £46.4 million from £43.2 million.

Reported net income rose 73.9% year over year to £7.0 million, or 7 pence per share, from £4.0 million.
