Standard Chartered names new regional head for private banking in EMEA

Standard Chartered PLC appointed Stephen Atkinson regional head for private banking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, succeeding Ian Gibson, effective Sept. 3.

Atkinson, who was also appointed global head for private banking referrals, was most recently chief of staff to the bank's CEO, Bill Winters. Still based in London, Atkinson will report to Didier von Daeniken, global head for private banking and wealth management, and Tracy Clarke, regional CEO for Europe and Americas.

Gibson will be retiring in September.
