Valor Resources Ltd. posted an 18% increase in indicated and inferred resources, in terms of tonnage, at its Berenguela property in southern Peru's Puno region.
Berenguela hosts indicated and inferred resources totaling 25.5 million tonnes at 112.97 g/t of silver, 1.003% copper, 9.56% manganese and 0.35% zinc. The estimate uses a cutoff grade of 0.50% copper equivalent.
The company noted in its Oct. 18 release that the Berenguela resource estimate includes zinc for the first time, with contained zinc totaling 197 million pounds, and said indicated resources increased 44%.
Contained metal also includes 564 million pounds of copper and 93 million ounces of silver.
Valor said it was proceeding to a pre-feasibility study on Berenguela in June, after an independent scoping study yielded positive results.
The company is planning another phase of drilling to focus on testing extensions of copper and silver mineralization.
