ESR signs lease with Amazon at Kuki Distribution Center, Japan

Logistics real estate platform ESR Cayman Ltd. signed a lease agreement with Amazon.com Inc. for 72,392 square meters at the ESR Kuki Distribution Centre in Kuki City near Tokyo, Japan.

The Class A-certified four-story logistics facility, operational since September 2018, is designed for environmental sustainability with green elements including roof top solar panels with 2.3 MW of clean energy production capacity.

The site, formerly a university campus, lies strategically within range of the Kuki Interchange of the Tohoku Expressway and the Shiraoka-Shobu Interchange of the Ken-O Expressway.

The facility offers private lounges and a day-care center providing free childcare services.

The long-term lease brings occupancy rate to 97% at the 151,500-square-meter facility.
