FEMSA takes full control of Chilean drugstore chain Socofar

Fomento Económico Mexicano SAV de CV said Jan. 9 that it acquired the remaining 40% interest in Grupo Socofar that it does not already own, making it the sole shareholder of the Chilean drug store chain.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company, which bottles Coca-Cola Co. beverages through Coca-Cola FEMSA SAV de CV, bought 60% of Socofar in 2015 for an enterprise value of $998 million.
