While the new Labor government in Western Australia will not grant further approvals, the state's new mines and petroleum minister, Bill Johnston, confirmed that uranium mines approved in the final months of the previous government will be allowed to proceed, according to a March 27 report from the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
Mines covered by the decision include Toro Energy Ltd.'s Wiluna property, Vimy Resources Ltd.'s Mulga Rock property and Cameco Corp.'s Yeelirrie property.
