Via Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 44 Japanese sen per share, an increase of 88.4% from 23 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥12.5 million, a gain from ¥5.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 0.2% from 0.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥6.38 billion from ¥6.12 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 5.8% on an annual basis to ¥6.30 billion from ¥5.95 billion.
Reported net income came to ¥140.4 million, or ¥4.89 per share, compared to a loss of ¥200.0 million, or a loss of ¥8.22 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥12.84 per share, compared with ¥12.82 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥327.5 million, a rise of 5.0% from ¥311.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to ¥25.63 billion from ¥24.95 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥24.86 billion from ¥24.14 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 36.3% year over year to ¥249.4 million, or ¥9.78 per share, in the full year, from ¥183.0 million, or ¥7.52 per share.
