Natori fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Natori Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥20.94 per share, a decline of 16.3% from ¥25.02 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥268.8 million, a decrease of 21.1% from ¥340.6 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.0% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 6.6% year over year to ¥9.08 billion from ¥8.51 billion, and total operating expenses increased 8.3% from the prior-year period to ¥8.64 billion from ¥7.98 billion.

Reported net income decreased 18.7% year over year to ¥269.0 million, or ¥20.96 per share, from ¥331.0 million, or ¥24.32 per share.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
