Accionia Energia starts work on 145-MW wind farm in Texas

Acciona Energia SA started construction on its 144.9-MW Palmas Altas Wind Project in Cameron County, Texas, it said in a news release Dec. 13.

The project is estimated to cost about €176 million, or about $200 million, and will be equipped with 46 Nordex SE wind turbines.

Once the facility is connected to the grid in November 2019, it is expected to produce about 524 GWh yearly, enough to offset 503,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emission.

The wind farm's output will be sold in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Inc.-South Texas wholesale market.
