Amira Nature Foods Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 19 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 16 cents per share.
EPS climbed 22.1% year over year from 16 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $5.6 million, an increase of 23.1% from $4.5 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 4.0% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 25.9% on an annual basis to $138.9 million from $110.3 million, and total operating expenses increased 21.6% from the prior-year period to $121.7 million from $100.1 million.
Reported net income rose 20.1% year over year to $7.2 million, or 25 cents per share, from $6.0 million, or 21 cents per share.
