As expected, U.S. President Donald Trump will nominate Kevin Hassett to be the chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, the White House announced April 7.
Hassett is the State Farm James Q. Wilson Chair in American Politics and Culture with the American Enterprise Institute, as well as a resident scholar and AEI's director of research for domestic policy. Hassett formerly was a senior economist for the Federal Reserve Board and previously worked at the U.S. Treasury Department as policy consultant during the administrations of George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
The nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.
