Joyfull Q2 profit falls YOY

Joyfull Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to ¥5.38 per share, a decline of 58.0% from ¥12.79 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥158.1 million, a decrease of 58.0% from ¥376.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 1.0% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to ¥15.21 billion from ¥14.56 billion, and total operating expenses grew 7.0% on an annual basis to ¥14.96 billion from ¥13.98 billion.

Reported net income decreased 74.0% on an annual basis to ¥89.0 million, or ¥3.03 per share, from ¥342.0 million, or ¥11.63 per share.

As of Aug. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥124.53.
