Procter & Gamble Co. said March 13 that it settled a patent infringement dispute with oral care product maker Ranir LLC over tooth-whitening strip products.
Ohio-based P&G said at issue were the patent rights it holds related to tooth-whitening technology and products. The consumer products giant makes Crest Whitestrips.
Ranir said in a separate March 13 statement that P&G had sued the Michigan-based company for patent infringement in March 2017.
Under the settlement reached by the two companies, Ranir obtains rights to P&G patents that will allow it to continue marketing its tooth-whitening strips, with certain commercial terms that are being kept confidential.
