Gaming and Leisure Properties director resigns

Casino real estate investment trust Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. said David Handler resigned from its board, effective May 31.

Separately, Penn National Gaming Inc. said its board elected Handler as its chairman while Peter Carlino resigned, effective June 12. Carlino was appointed chairman emeritus in a non-voting capacity.

Carlino's board resignation was in light of Penn National's acquisition of Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. in October 2018. Penn National will reduce the number of members on its board to seven from eight, following Carlino's resignation.

The resignations at Penn National and Gaming and Leisure are not tied to any dispute or disagreement with the companies, according to separate filings.
