Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 61 poisha per share, a gain from 9 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 55.5 million taka, an increase from 8.3 million taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 15.3% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 72.5% year over year to 363.1 million taka from 210.5 million taka, and total operating expenses rose 35.9% year over year to 263.4 million taka from 193.9 million taka.

Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to 76.5 million taka, or 83 poisha per share, from 9.5 million taka, or 10 poisha per share.

As of Feb. 3, US$1 was equivalent to 77.73 taka.
